WALK into the world-famous Harrods of Knightsbridge in London today and you will find OSIM massage chairs and its other lifestyle products.
Taking up 770 sq ft of shop space, the mainboard-listed company has become the first Singapore retailer with a presence in what many consider to be the world's most prestigious department store.
OSIM's entry was at the invitation of Harrods, which is owned by Mr Mohamed Al-Fayed.
'Harrods is highly regarded as the world's finest department store,' said OSIM founder and chief executive Ron Sim yesterday.
'They built their fame on a reputation for excellence and in finding the finest quality merchandise for their customers. OSIM identifies with that.'
On the opening day of the OSIM shop on Nov 20, a Hong Kong tycoon and a well-known European entertainer were spotted in the shop.
Located on the third level, the OSIM shop is stocked with high-end massage chairs like the OSIM iSymphonic and iMedic as well as other familiar products like iSqueeze and iGallop.
OSIM said the opening was just in time to catch traditional Christmas shoppers.
As part of its push into new markets, OSIM has also signed up a new franchisee in Bahrain. The first store will open in March.
