Hyflux associate wins Henan deal

HYFLUX's 25 per cent-owned associate Luwei (Pingdingshan) Water Supply Co has clinched a concession to supply 30,000 cubic metres a day of drinking water to Lushan county in China's Henan province for 29 years from 2005. Luwei will build a 30,000 cubic metres per day (expandable to 50,000 cubic metres per day) water-treatment plant along with the distribution network and other ancillary works to treat water from the Shaopingtai reservoir in Henan province. Hyflux NewSpring Construction Engineering (Shanghai) Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, will be involved in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work estimated at a value of 56.6 million yuan (S$11.3 million). The project is slated for completion early next year.
