Winstedt Chong raises stake in HG MetalAugust 24, 2004The Business Times FORMER Links Island Holdings chairman Winstedt Chong Thim Pheng continued to raise his stake in HG Metal Manufacturing last Friday with an open-market purchase of 505,000 shares. His direct stake in the steel stockist and distributor now stands at 2.34 per cent from 1.96 per cent previously. Mr Chong is also deemed to be interested in another 6.07 per cent stake in HG Metal held by his wife, Links Island deputy managing director Cynthia Tan Kwee Hiang. The couple now controls a combined 8.41 per cent stake in HG Metal. Shares of HG Metal gained half a cent, or 1.4 per cent, to close at 36.5 cents yesterday.
