>Ex-Links chairman still buying HG MetalJuly 28, 2004The Business Times FORMER Links Island Holdings chairman Winstedt Chong Thim Pheng bought 77,000 more shares in HG Metal Manufacturing on the open market on Monday, raising his direct stake to 1.75 per cent from 1.69 per cent. His wife, Links Island deputy managing director Cynthia Tan Kwee Hiang, has a direct stake of 6.07 per cent in the steel stockist and distributor. The couple have accounted for all the trades by directors or substantial shareholders of HG Metal since May, when Ms Tan emerged as a substantial shareholder. HG Metal shares gained half a cent to close at 36.5 cents yesterday.
