Winstedt Chong buys more of HG MetalJuly 23, 2004The Business Times FORMER Links Island Holdings chairman Winstedt Chong Thim Pheng and his wife, Links Island deputy managing director Cynthia Tan Kwee Hiang, continued their months-long acquisition of shares in steel stockist and distributor HG Metal. An open market purchase of 248,000 shares on Wednesday at undisclosed prices by Mr Chong raised the couple's combined stake in HG Metal to 7.76 per cent from 7.57 per cent. Mr Chong and Ms Tan have accounted for all the trades by directors or substantial shareholders reported by HG Metal since May, when Ms Tan emerged as a substantial shareholder of the company. HG Metal shares rose half a cent or 1.4 per cent to 36 cents yesterday.
