Ex-Links chief buys HG Metal sharesJune 23, 2004The Business Times FORMER Links Island chairman Winstedt Chong Thim Pheng and his wife Cynthia Tan Kwee Hiang (deputy managing director of Links Island Holdings), have emerged as substantial shareholders of steel stockist and distributor HG Metal Manufacturing. Mr Chong bought his first 500,000 shares on Friday last week at 38.5 cents apiece, then another 580,000 shares on Monday for an undisclosed sum. Ms Tan first became a substantial shareholder of HG Metal last month, and the couple's combined stake in the company now stands at 6.89 per cent. HG Metal dipped half a cent or 1.3 per cent to close at 37.5 cents yesterday.
