Cosco wins $284m contract

COSCO Corp said yesterday its 51 per cent-owned unit has secured a US$185.2 million (S$283.8 million) contract to build four heavy-lift vessels.

Cosco Shipyard Group has also secured an option to build another two vessels from the same client, Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Company. The first four vessels are expected to be delivered between March 2009 and April 2010.
