What does an organisation need to do to attract, develop and retain talent?
COMPANIES skilled at attracting, developing and retaining talented people have the competitive advantage in the marketplace. At Best World, we cultivate a harmonious and happy working culture and a non-restrictive work atmosphere such that every family member of Best World feels that the company is their second home. We want to help the talents manage their careers by coaching and mentoring them so that they would have a strong sense of belonging to the company.
Our CEO lunches give employees the chance to interact with the CEO and freely discuss progress towards their goals and have help if they have trouble reaching them. It is harder for anyone to quit if they meet with their mentor frequently.
By creating an open channel of communication, there is synergy and trust among employees at all levels. People are motivated by different things. Many are motivated by the opportunity to do a good job and be recognised for it. In our staff meet and share session, we give positive feedback to employees who go the extra mile so that they know they are valued.
We ensure that our employees are empowered with the resources to do what is expected of them. Without a realistic compensation package, it would be tough to attract capable people to take the job. Hence, we review our remuneration package when necessary to ensure that our employees are awarded fairly.
